This a shareware program. Obviously it creates and draws fractal images. There are about 30 such formulas provided and with each formula you can change the initial conditions or exit conditions that can dramatically change the way a particular image looks. Being a fractal program it is primarily designed for zooming in and around the chaotic image for exploring many beautiful images. The colours can be change easily and dramatically for many different effects.
Plugins can be used to create effects, generate new fractals or for saving in different file formats. This allows anyone to create a plugin to use with the program Fractals.
A QuickDraw 3D image can be made of the fractal using the nature of the fractal, the number of iterations, to create a three dimensional model. If you want to create any beautiful and complex pictures then this is the program for you, or maybe you might just want to take a look around.
This program is probably best used with a screen resolution of 832x624 or above. The colours look best with thousands of colours.
The easiest way to find out would be to simply run the program and explore for a while. Basically it is mathematical calculation that creates areas that have infinite complexity. This means that no matter how far you zoom in on the image (of course it also depends on the accuracy of the numbers being used - I'm using 64 bit numbers) it still appears just as complex. In some cases the image also has small clones of the original image that are usually distorted in some way.
Paying for Fractals is fairly simple. Open the Register program that accompanies Fractals. Enter your name, your email address, and the number of single user licenses you desire for each program you wish to purchase. Save or Copy or Print the data from the Register program and send the data and payment to Kagi. More specifics on the Register program to follow. Kagi handles my payment processing.
This program may be distributed by any electronic or physical media with the proviso that it is distributed as is without any alteration and that all parts of the original stuffit archive remain together.
